About me

Hi, I'm Patrick.

I graduated with a Masters in Mathematics from the University of Bristol and have spent the last decade exclusively tutoring GCSE and A-Level Maths. It's all I do.

Every exam board follows patterns. After years breaking down thousands of exam questions and marking papers, I've identified exactly what students need to know and exactly where they lose marks. From the first lesson, your child will be working on real exam questions.

I also co-founded AITutor, a revision platform used by thousands of students and schools across the UK for learning and testing specific GCSE and A-Level syllabuses.

What I teach

Specialist tuition,
exam by exam.

Every lesson is built around the specific exam your child is sitting. Not generic maths — the exact syllabus, the exact question types, the exact mark schemes.

📊

A-Level Maths

Pure, Statistics, and Mechanics. All boards. AS and A2. Past papers from day one, targeted to the questions that actually come up.

📈

Further Maths

A-Level Further Mathematics for students targeting competitive university courses. All examined content covered across all boards.

📝

GCSE Maths

Foundation and Higher. Focused exam preparation — whether your child needs a pass or a 9. Exam technique is everything at this level.

🏫

Entrance Exams

11+, Common Entrance, MAT, STEP, and university admissions tests. Specialist preparation for competitive places.

💼

Numerical Reasoning

QTS, SHL, PSLK, GTIOS and other professional numeracy tests. Rapid, focused preparation for assessment deadlines.

🌍

International A-Level

Pearson Edexcel IAL and Cambridge International. Students anywhere in the world — same rigorous approach, same exam focus.

My approach

A clear plan to
maximise their grade.

Every student gets a structured approach tailored to their exam, their timeline, and exactly where they are right now.

01

Initial assessment

In the first lesson, I work through problems with your child to get a precise picture of their strengths and weaknesses. Not a vague overview — I'll know exactly which topics need work and which are solid.

02

Personalised revision plan

After that lesson, I'll send you a detailed breakdown of where your child is and a revision plan mapped to their exam date. You'll know exactly what we need to cover and when, to maximise their grade.

03

Targeted exam preparation

From there, every lesson is focused on real exam questions from their specific board. I set and mark homework between sessions, track their progress, and adjust the plan as they improve.

FAQ

Common questions.

Lessons run on a video call with a shared interactive whiteboard where both of us can write in real time. All your child needs is a laptop or tablet and an internet connection. Nothing to download. Most students use an iPad. I'll walk them through everything in the first lesson.
All major UK and international boards. UK GCSE and A-Level: Edexcel, AQA, OCR, OCR (MEI). International A-Level: Pearson Edexcel IAL and Cambridge International (CAIE). iGCSE: Edexcel iGCSE and Cambridge iGCSE. I also cover Cambridge Additional Mathematics. Every lesson is targeted specifically to the exam your child is sitting.
No — 100% of my lessons are online. I've been tutoring this way since 2016 and it's just as effective as face-to-face. It also means I can work with students anywhere in the UK or the world.
There's no obligation to continue after the first lesson, but it is a paid session. This ensures we can both fully commit to making the most of the time.
Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice are charged at the full lesson rate. With 24+ hours' notice, there's no charge.
Absolutely. I work with students at every level — from A* candidates to those who need to pass. My approach builds confidence through exam technique. Many of my best results have come from students who started with very low grades.
